Crafty Wine Glass Markers

These wine glass markers are a fun, functional, easy, and quick craft to do. My 12 year old daughter made them as a gift  for her grandmothers. These simple to make markers are a great way to add a personal touch to any wine gift basket.

Phase 2

Now its time to get creative

Step Six: Grab your altered bottle cap, beads, bead wire, crimp beads, and jewelry plyers. Cut a piece of bead wire about 2" long. Put your beads on the wire. Slide the wire through the hole you made in the bottle cap. Then slide your crimp bead onto one of the ends of the wire. Next place the other end of the wire through the crimp bead to make a loop. Pull the two wire ends tights and use your plyers to crimp the crimp bead flat. (make sure both ends of the wire are running through the crimp bead before pinching it flat) Finally cut off the extra wire hanging off on each side.
Step Seven: Finally place the book ring around your beaded loop

Here's the How To for a simple no sew flower
Supply List:
tulle
floral stem
lighter
hot glue
scissors
hole punch
cardboard (or paper to make a template)
First- make a circle template. I made mine 2 1/2inches round

Second - cut out about 15 circles. They do not need to be perfect.

Third - burn the edges of the circles

Fourth - stack the burnt circles on top of one another

Fifth - punch a small hole in the center and push you floral stem through.

Sixth - color the floral stem to match the flower petals

Finally - add a little hot glue to the bottom so your flower petals do not slide down the stem

This flower would be also cute on a headband, barrette, or sash made into a belt.

Crafts by Gracie:

The below creations were made by my 12 year old daughter, Gracie. They were my Mother's Day gifts from her. I hope they inspire you.
This cute little hanging candle holder was made from a jelly jar, craft paper, jewelry wire, and beads.
Gracie cut strips of paper and glued them around the jelly jar. She then wrapped the jewelry wire around the jar top under the lip. Next she cut three equal lengths of wire to create the hanging portion. She first attached them to the wire around the jar. Then she added a few beads for decoration. Lastly she twisted the wires together and created a loop.
This cute little initialed plaque was made from scrap wood, bottle caps, and scrapbook paper. First Gracie painted the a scrap piece of wood. Next she used a 1 inch circle punch and cut out various papers designs. She then glued the paper onto the inside of the bottle caps. Finally she glued the bottle caps onto the scrap wood.

Silhouettes

simple homemade Silhouettes

Supplies:

black cardstock paper (plain or textured)
textured white card stock paper
a matted frame
a lamp
camera
printer
light box or window
scissors
exacto knife
white printing paper
double sided tape

Step 1: take a profile picture with additional lighting in the back
Step 2: upload the picture to your computer and alter the contrast to dark, then print
Step 3: get out your light box and trace your photo to make an outline. If you do not have a light box, simply tape the photo and blank paper to a well lit window.

Step 4: cut out traced picture
Step 5: trace the cut out picture's outline onto the black paper
Step 6: cut out your outline and use an exacto knife for details

Lastly cut out the white textured card stock paper to fit the frame and double stick tape your silhouette to it. I like a linen texture for my papers, but any paper will work.
